Cards and Payments (SIM Card, Smart Card, EMV, NFC)

The global Smart Card market is valued at 7550 million US$ in 2017 and will reach 11200 million US$ by the end of 2025, growing at a CAGR of 5.0% during 2018-2025.In the coming years, Smart Card market is expected to witness the highest growth rate in the Asia-Pacific region. Although Smart Card brings a lot of opportunities, the study group recommends the new entrants just having money but without technical advantage and upstream and downstream support do not to enter into this field.

Smart Card Training

A smart card, chip card, or integrated circuit card (ICC) is any pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits. Smart cards are made of plastic, generally polyvinyl chloride, but sometimes polyethylene terephthalate based polyesters, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene or polycarbonate. Since April 2009, a Japanese company has manufactured reusable financial smart cards made from paper.

EMV Technology

EMV is a technical standard for smart payment cards and for payment terminals and automated teller machines that can accept them. EMV cards are smart cards (also called chip cards or IC cards) which store their data on integrated circuits rather than magnetic stripes, although many EMV cards also have stripes for backward compatibility.

SIM Card Technology

SIM cards are the small cards which contains a chip that must be inserted into phones before they will work. Without a SIM card, a phone won't be able to tap into any mobile network. SIM card, is an integrated circuit that is intended to securely store the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) number and its related key, which are used to identify and authenticate subscribers on mobile telephony devices (such as mobile phones and computers).

Near Field Communication (NFC) Technology

Near Field Communication or NFC, is a short-range high frequency wireless communication technology which enables the exchange of data between devices over about a 10 centimeter (around 4 inches) distance. This course covers details of NFC technology.
