A SIM card is a smart card that stores data for cellular telephone subscribers. Such data includes user identity, location and phone number, network authorization data, personal security keys, contact lists and stored text messages. Security features include authentication and encryption to protect data and prevent eavesdropping. SIM cards are the small cards which contains a chip that must be inserted into phones before they will work. Without a SIM card, a phone won't be able to tap into any mobile network. SIM card, is an integrated circuit that is intended to securely store the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) number and its related key, which are used to identify and authenticate subscribers on mobile telephony devices (such as mobile phones and computers).
